QuizMake is committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.


1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT


1.1 Local Data Storage


All quiz data you create is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your quizzes, answers, or personal quiz content stored locally.


1.2 Data Collected for AI Quiz Generation


When you use the AI quiz generation feature, we collect and transmit the following information to our secure servers:


- Quiz Requests: Your text prompts, uploaded documents (PDFs), and quiz preferences

- Device Identifier: A unique identifier stored in your device's secure Keychain, used for usage limits and rate limiting

- Settings & Preferences: Language preference, question type preferences, timezone (locked on first use), and subscription status

- Usage Metrics: Number of AI quizzes generated (for enforcing free/premium limits)


1.3 Quiz Sharing Data


When you share a quiz using our sharing feature:


- Quiz Content: Title, description, questions, answers, and explanations are stored in Firebase Firestore

- Share Links: Temporary links valid for 24 hours (automatically deleted after expiration)

- No Personal Information: Your name, email, or any personally identifiable information is NOT included in shared quizzes


2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION


2.1 AI Quiz Generation


We use third-party AI services to power quiz generation:


- Service Provider: Firebase Cloud Functions & OpenAI

- Purpose: To process your quiz requests and generate personalized quiz content

- Data Processing: Your prompts and preferences are sent to our Firebase Cloud Function, which uses OpenAI's API to generate quiz questions

- Retention: AI request data is processed in real-time and not permanently stored


2.2 Usage Limits & Rate Limiting


We use device identifiers to enforce fair usage policies:


- Free Users: 1 AI quiz per lifetime

- Premium Subscribers: 10 AI quizzes per day (resets at local midnight)

- Purchased Credits: Additional AI quiz credits purchased via in-app purchases


2.3 Analytics & Performance


We do NOT collect analytics or tracking data. Firebase Analytics is disabled in our app.


3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES


3.1 Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)


We use Firebase for:


- Cloud Functions: Secure server-side AI quiz generation

- Firestore Database: Temporary storage of shared quiz links (24-hour TTL)

- App Check: Security verification using Apple App Attest

3.2 OpenAI


Our Firebase Cloud Function uses OpenAI's API to generate quiz content based on your prompts.

3.3 Data Transfer


All data transmitted to third-party services is:


- Encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols

- Authenticated via Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest

- Processed only for quiz generation - not used for training AI models or other purposes


4. YOUR CONSENT & CONTROL


4.1 Explicit Consent Required


Before using AI quiz generation for the first time, you will see a consent dialog explaining:


- What data is shared with third parties

- Which third-party services are used (Firebase & OpenAI)

- How your data is processed and protected


You must explicitly consent to this data sharing to use the AI quiz generation feature. You can decline, and the app will continue to work with manual quiz creation.


4.2 Data You Control


- Quiz Content: You can delete any quiz stored locally on your device at any time

- Shared Links: Shared quiz links automatically expire after 24 hours and are deleted from our servers

- AI Feature: You can choose not to use AI quiz generation and rely solely on manual quiz creation


5. DATA SECURITY


We implement industry-standard security measures:


- Device-Level Encryption: Device identifiers are stored in the iOS Keychain (hardware-backed secure storage)

- Transport Security: All network requests use HTTPS with certificate pinning

- App Attestation: Firebase App Check verifies app authenticity before processing requests

- No API Keys on Device: Sensitive credentials are never stored on your device

- Automatic Deletion: Shared quiz links are automatically deleted after 24 hours (Firestore TTL policy)


6. DATA RETENTION


- Local Quizzes: Stored on your device until you manually delete them

- Shared Quiz Links: Automatically deleted after 24 hours

- AI Usage Metrics: Device-level usage counts stored indefinitely for fair usage enforcement

- AI Request Content: Not permanently stored; processed in real-time only


7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY


QuizMake does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation, email addresses, or personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at yibadev@gmail.com.


8. YOUR RIGHTS


You have the right to:


- Access: Request information about what data we have collected (device usage metrics)

- Deletion: Request deletion of your device usage data by contacting us

- Revoke Consent: Stop using AI quiz generation at any time

- Data Portability: Export your locally stored quizzes via the app's share feature


9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS


Our servers are hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) in the United States. By using QuizMake, you consent to the transfer of your data to servers located outside your country of residence.


10. NO SALE OF PERSONAL DATA


We DO NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data shared with Firebase and OpenAI is used solely for providing the AI quiz generation service.


11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY


We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:


- The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised

- Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notification

- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
