Packhey (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a packing list app for trips. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Summary
Your packing lists are stored on your device first.
If you sign in, lists can sync to the cloud so you can share them with travel companions.
We use Apple Sign In and Google Sign In for authentication.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers in the app.
Information We Collect
1. Information you provide
Trip and packing data: destinations, dates, list items, notes, and checklist progress.
Account information: when you sign in, we receive a user ID and, if you allow it, your name and email from Apple or Google.
Display name: an optional name you choose for shared lists.
Invite codes: when you share or join a list.
2. Information collected automatically
Device and app data: basic technical data needed to run sync, such as app version and device type, through our cloud provider.
Authentication tokens: to keep you signed in securely.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not require your precise location for core app features.
We do not read your contacts, photos, or other apps.
We do not use Google Analytics or similar analytics SDKs in the app.
How We Use Information
We use your information to:
Create and store your packing lists
Sync lists across your devices when you are signed in
Let you share lists with people you invite
Send optional trip reminders if you enable notifications
Maintain app security and prevent abuse
Respond to support requests
How Sharing Works
When you share a list:
Trip data is stored in our cloud database using Firebase / Google Cloud.
People you invite with a code can view and edit that list while they are members.
Only signed-in users can join a shared list.
Do not share invite codes publicly if you want to keep a list private.

Data Storage and Retention
On your device: lists remain in local storage even when offline.
In the cloud: synced data is stored while your account and trips exist.
If you sign out, cloud sync stops; local data remains on your device unless you delete it.
If you delete the app, local data is removed from your device. Cloud data may remain until deleted or until we implement account deletion.
Your Choices
You can:
Use the app without signing in in local-only mode
Decline notifications in iOS Settings
Sign out in Packhey Settings
Delete trips inside the app
Contact us to request deletion of cloud account data
Children’s Privacy
Packhey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures through our cloud provider, including encrypted connections through HTTPS/TLS and authenticated access rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International Users
If you use Packhey outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States and the European Union, depending on Firebase region settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are made.
